Sign-up continues through November 6 for our service at the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank on Saturday, November 12 from 8am -12pm. Our team of volunteers will sort and box donated commodities for delivery to distribution centers from which recipients obtain food for their families. Service projects are often the occasion for some members to meet for the first time. So come join the fun and maybe meet a new friend as we work together as volunteers from “The Church That Shows Up”.

We have enjoyed an enduring partnership with Camphor Memorial United Methodist Church in the Scotlandville community as the result of pairings between churches in Greater Baton Rouge initiated more than twenty years ago with the goal of developing relationships across racial and religious divides. One activity that has become a Partnership tradition is an annual Christmas party hosted by JoAnn and Charlie Fryling at their home. Information for members who would like to attend this event and learn more about the Camphor-UU Partnership can be found below.

The Annual Community Hunger Walk, co-sponsored by the Interfaith Federation of Greater Baton Rouge and the Baton Rouge Catholic Diocese, will be Sunday, November 6 at the Catholic Life Center, 1800 South Acadian Thruway. Registration and Hunger Awareness Activities begin at 1:30, and the walk starts at 2:30. Proceeds benefit the Federation's Holy Grill and the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank. Suggested registration fee is $10. Call the Food Bank at 225-359-9940 to register.

Take iron tablets for a week or more ahead. You will be building up credits in our church Family Blood Bank as well as giving a wonderful gift for those who need it in our community! Please sign up on the time schedule at the Blood Drive table Nov. 13, 20, & 27.  Thank you so much, JoAnn Fryling & Beverly Wilson
