Blog category:

St. George- We have information available supporting our position opposing the creation of St. George as a separate city. Contact David. Also, the Federation of Civic Associations is holding a forum on this issue on Thursday, September 12, 6:30 p.m. at Goodwood Library.

Immigration crisis initiative- A committee is the process of formation to determine what the church can do. Wayne Parker has graciously agreed to co-chair (other co-chair to be determined). There’s a meeting scheduled for Monday, September 9, 4:00 p.m. at the church.

Candidate accountability forum- Together Baton Rouge will question several candidates in the upcoming election at its luncheon meeting, Tuesday, September 10, 12:00 p.m. at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, 9700 Scenic Hwy. near the I-110 junction. We want a big turnout, so please sign up at the Social Justice Table on September 1 or 8.

TBR is also conducting a civic academy at our church, focused on Together Baton Rouge itself, its history, mission, and accomplishments, Thursday, September 26, 6-8:00 p.m., in the sanctuary.

The next regular meeting of the Social Justice Team will be Sunday, September 29, 12:45pm, church office.

Thursday, October 3, and Friday, October 4, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., the church will be hosting a statewide conference, My Louisiana Equality and Equity Summit, sponsored by the Justice Alliance. The program will be available shortly.
