Introducing the Usher Corps   Beginning in March, our ushering work will have a new look and a defined purpose.  As our church grows, we see the need for committed ushers who will rotate through a two-month schedule. Kristie Boudreaux has assembled a team of more than 20 people who enjoy ushering and who will work together to assist people at our services in the little ways that help you feel comfortable and engaged in the service.

Our tradition of bringing Flowers will also have a new look.  In a few weeks, we will have available a calendar of Sundays for 2014.   If you have a date that marks a birthday of your own or someone you love, or a date that marks an anniversary of an important event in your life, you can claim that Sunday to bring flowers in honor of the event.   The event calendar will have space for the date, your name, the reason or person being honored, and your contact information so we can remind you close to the time.   In addition, the space in that Sunday’s order of service will include your name as well as the reason you are bringing flowers.  Bringing flowers is a nice way to stay connected with each other and to help us remember, celebrate, and share events.

The music for the month of February will include choir anthems on both February 2 and February 9.

The New Orleans Gay Men's Chorus presents a concert titled "Be Mine" on Saturday, February 15, at 7:30 in our Sanctuary. Tickets are $15 in advance (call 387-4281) or $18 at the door.

On February 16, we will hear vocalist Martha Howe, along with flutist Rachael Blake and pianist Leah Hartman.

On February 23, we have our annual Blues Service.

Late Breaking Music News: Music Exchange/Fun sessions.  During the Wednesday 5:00 - 6:30pm slot before choir practice (dates to be arranged), there will be a series of playful music exchange/fun sessions facilitated by Bruce Moore.  Bring personal favorites in on your ipod/ipad/iphone/mp3 player – we’ll plug in to the digital piano to listen, explore, and have some fun finding favorites we can sing and play together.  Instruments welcome.  Contact Bruce at
