 Throughout the year, the choir sings anthems of many different styles.  Each is holy in its own way.  For our Music Sunday, the choir sings their favorite six anthems from this past year.  The anthems, responses from the choir members about the anthems, and congregation participation in singing new and familiar hymns complete our music service of Finding the Holy in Music on June 1.  


We will hear a number of vocal ensembles throughout June and on June 29 we celebrate the music and the UU values of Pete Seeger.  


We host two very special music events in June.   The New Orleans Gay Men’s Chorus returns on June 14 at 7:30 with a theme of “Why We Sing.”   Tickets are $20 at the door or $18 in advance by calling 387-4281 or purchased online at


The Baton Rouge Bluegrass Association and the Unitarian Church are pleased to host the Claire Lynch Band in concert on Friday evening, June 20th, at 8:00.   Tickets for this performance are $20 at the door.  Students 17 and under admitted free.  Doors open at 7:00 for an acoustic pre-concert jam.   Claire Lynch is the reigning International Bluegrass Music Association Female Vocalist of the Year.
